The Mammoth Times is reporting that Caltrans is reporting that 9,943′ Tioga Pass (hwy 120) in Yosemite, CA will open from the east to the pass this Thursday, May 12th, at noon. ย The west side will remain closed at Crane Flat. ย The park service is hoping to have Tioga Pass road completely open by Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-30th).
This opening is weather dependent, but the weather looks good this week.
Caltrans announced on April 24th that Tioga Pass would open from the east on April 29th, but weather came in and they canceled the opening citing “slope stability” issues.
The Mammoth Times is also reporting that they estimate that Sonora Pass (hwy 108) will open from the east to the pass this Friday, May 13th.
Monitor Pass (hwy 89) opened today.
