24 hours of snowfall is coming to Lake Tahoe tonight through tomorrow night. ย 5-10″ of snow is expected above 7,000 feet. ย Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Kirkwood will be open in Tahoe This weekend.
Saturday should be a pretty stellar powder day with the Squaw Palisades being the highlight. ย
The next Pacific storm is encroaching on northern California. This system with associated frontal system will move through the region tonight through Friday night and bring colder, wetter weather with snow levels decreasing from 7000 feet today down to around 4500 feet Friday night. A Winter Weather Advisory will likely bring 5 to 10 inches of new snowfall to areas above 5500 feet tonight through Friday night. Snowfall together with breezy conditions may generate poor visibilities due to blowing snow over higher elevations. – NOAA
