A 17-year-old is still missing after going body surfing at Laguna Creek Beach, 13-miles north of Santa Cruz, CA, on Monday. He is the third person to go missing from that stretch of coastline in two weeks.

Cash Ebright was body surfing and was last seen wearing black swim trunks. Crews continue to search for Ebright around Laguna State Beach.

“The ocean is not forgiving. Be careful, use caution, playing on rocks and jetties isn’t advisable. And don’t forget, never turn your back to the ocean.”

On September 12th David Guzman, 26, of San Jose was swept out to sea near Davenport Beach. Despite an extensive search with multiple agencies Guzman has not yet been found.

Just two days later, on September 14th, Conrad Miltko, 30, was standing on rocks near Panther Beach when a wave swept him into the water. Officials recovered his body from the water.

“The overall pattern of the ocean as of recently has been mostly a light southerly swell and northwest winds that vary on the type of weather each day. If they’re strong, the winds can locally generate some bigger waves. There’s not a massive northwest swell going on right now that we usually see in the wintertime.”
