Yesterday, nearly 200 Santas on skis and snowboards shredded down the slopes of Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, California. The ninth annual Santa Sunday event offered skiers and snowboarders in costume a full day lift ticket for a donation to local charity Christmas Cheer All Year,ย founded by former news reporterย Rick Lozano. This yearโ€™s Santa Sunday event raised approximately $10,000 which will benefit under privileged children in Southern California.

Throughout the rest of the day, festivities continued at the West Sundeck with live DJ performances throughout the day, while families also descended onto the Yetiโ€™s Snow Play area all weekend to have their photo taken with Santa and Mountain Highโ€™s Yeti, decorated ornaments and more.

Mountain High Resort is Southern Californiaโ€™s closest winter destination located just 90 minutes from Los Angeles and Orange County. The area consists ofย three separate mountains (Eastย Resort, West Resort, and North Resort) and offers a wide variety of lifts and trails, a world-class terrain park, an outstanding winter sports school and three Yetiโ€™s Snow Parks.

The season at Mountain High Resort is in full swing with skiing and snowboarding available seven days a week. Night skiing is open Wednesday-Sunday from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Yeti Snow Play is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on holidays and weekends for sledding, tubing, snow play, scenic sky chair rides and more.

The event is a popular fundraiser at Mountain High Resort. | Image: Mountain High Resort
