With big snowfall totals in the forecast all of the die-hards in the front range made plans to go skiing. And with A-Basin being the only mountain still providing lift-serve turns it made for what was likely the most crowded day of the season. Those that arrived early were rewarded with great creamy untracked turns.
Around 9:30 ropes dropped on the low traverse under the east wall making for some more great turns and even a bit of cliff dropping for the more adventurous.ย
With some of the longest lines of the season, a bit of patients went a long way today, Just remembering that we were all skiing powder in mid May!
By the afternoon the game was finding the lingering stashes hidden in the trees. Pali was a great bet!
With the hot May sun, even with cloud cover the snow started to warm up a bit in the afternoon. Bloody Mary’s were a great remedy for heavy snow and tired legs.
