A large avalanche came down across I-70 in Colorado today during avalanche mitigation today.

The interstate is currently closed in both directions due to this avalanche.

The interstate was closed at the time of the avalanche.

This avalanche occurred between Copper Mountain and Officer’s Gultch.

Two avalanches came down onto cars while the road was open over the weekend and the footage of those avalanches is dramatic:

  1. That is not the same avalanche. The first is in officers gulch and the second is east of the divide between Loveland pass and Hermanโ€™s gulch on a prominent peak.
