“Weโre thrilled to offer convenient connection for guests across our network with this expansionโwhether checking destinations off their bucket lists or setting off to their favorite winter getaways, weโve put together an exciting range of options from tropical destinations across Mexico to the most popular ski slopes in North America,โ Kirsten Amrine said, Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Alaska Airlines, as stated on Alaska Airlines’ official website.
Winter destinations are just the tip of the iceberg for Alaska Airlines’ winter 2025 itinerary. Travelers can fly nonstop from the West Coast to Liberia, Costa Rica, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Mexico, and Orlando, Florida for those who prefer sand over snow in the winter months. Alaska Airlines is also regarded as a leading carrier among customers for its spacious and modern planes, consistent and on-time flight schedule, and generous bag policy.
“Most sports equipment that exceeds our normal checked baggage weight and dimensions flies for only $30 for the first bag. This is a big win for sports enthusiasts and sports teams who can take their gear as one of their two checked bags. In the past, many of these items have carried an oversized fee of $75,” according to the airlines’ official bag policy.
As an added benefit for its MVP Gold 75K, MVP Gold, MVP, First Class, and Club 49 guests, sporting equipment on the approved list now counts towards a free checked baggage allowance. The same applies to the free checked bag benefit for Alaska Airlines Visa Signatureยฎ cardholders.
Alaska Airlines has always been at the forefront of West Coast travel, and with the exciting announcement of these new winter destinations and updated bag and gear policy, there’s no better time to start planning you’re winter vacation. Whether it’s packing up the surfboards and swim trunks for the beaches of Costa Rica, or the boots, bags, and snowboards for Heavenly and NorthStar, Alaska Airlines is ready to make your dreams a reality.
