Two guides from Squaw Valley, CA based Alpenglow Expeditions just summited the world’s second-highest mountain without supplemental oxygen. Company founder Adrian Ballinger and Carla Perez reached the peak of 28,251-foot K2 in the Himalayas yesterday morning.
Together with Lakpadendi Sherpa, Gesman Tamang, Changba Sherpa, and Lakpa Temba Sherpa they rapidly reached Camp 4 at 26,083-feet. On Tuesday night at 22.20, the group made its summit bid, reaching the top of the Savage Mountain at 7:50 am Wednesday morning, reports Planet Mountain.
