Mountain General Manager, Duane Stutzman, expressed his delight at the overwhelming response from thrill-seekers. “We were hoping to attract three or four people per tour,” he told Alaska Public, “but we’re selling out.” In response to the high demand, Alyeska Resort plans to train additional guides next week and increase the number of tours daily. Tours are available every two hours, accommodating six people per group. The cost per person for this adrenaline-fueled escapade is $150.

Stutzman emphasized that the Veilbreaker Skybridges offer a unique experience unlike anything found at most other resorts. “While many resorts offer zip lines or roller coasters,” he explained, “we wanted something different that truly showcases the essence of the Alaska lifestyle.”

These awe-inspiring tours will continue to operate daily until the arrival of the first measurable snowfall. The bridge is disassembled during winter, with all foot walkways removed, leaving only the cables suspended in the air. Come spring, the resort reassembles the bridge in preparation for another season of breathtaking adventures.

The tour commences with a scenic tram ride up the mountainside. Upon reaching the summit, visitors are provided with harnesses and helmets, followed by a comprehensive safety briefing. Accompanied by experienced guides, the group embarks on a short but steep hike to reach the bridges. Once there, participants are securely fastened to a safety cable and can cross the bridges at their own pace, either individually or in pairs.

While capturing stunning photographs on the bridges is encouraged, the guides caution visitors to be extra careful with their belongings. Dropping a phone or any other item from such heights would result in permanent loss.

Visitors seeking an unforgettable adventure and a chance to witness Alaska’s natural beauty from dizzying heights need look no further than Alyeska Resort’s Veilbreaker Skybridges. Book your tour today and prepare for an adventure that will leave you breathless and yearning for more.
