Alyeka ski resort in Girdwood, AK stands alone as the only ski resort in North America (mostly likely the world) to break the 400″ snowfall total mark this season.ย Alyeska has gotten 418″ of snowfall this season and they have 119″ of snow laying on the ground right now.
418″ of snow already and it’s only January!ย Most resorts hope to get 400″ in a full year.ย In a really good full year.
The next closest ski resorts aren’t even close right now with Mt. Baker sporting a total of 357″ – Sugar Bowl, CA & Mt. Bachelor, OR are at and 337″ & 326″ respectively.
Alyeska’s averages 650″ of snowfall per season and their highest recorded total was 978″ of snowfall back in 2011/12.
Alyeska is on track to have one helluva high snowfall total this season…
