Andes Tower Hills in Minnesota became the first ski resort in the midwest to open at the weekend when they started a lift turning on Saturday morning. The ski area began snowmaking late on Friday night and had enough snow to ski on by Saturday.
The Turtle Express magic carpet was running, offering 14 feet of vert on one run until 1 p.m. on Saturday and then from 12-4 on Sunday.
The ski area in the middle of farm country Minnesota first opened in 1980 and has since served over one million skiers.ย It has 15 trails on varying terrain, from beginner to black runs, as well as terrain park features.
