For the seventh year running, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team held its annual fundraiser in St. Louis, MO, hosted by Stifel Financial Corporations’s CEO Ron Kruszewski and his partner Amanda Perkins. The fundraiser is held in St. Louis every year and attracts a crowd of several hundred donors who raise valuable funds to support the U.S. Team’s athletes. A record amount of more than $1 million was raised on September 23, 2023.

This year the fundraiser was themed “Mikaela’s Roadhouse” and saw the hosts, Kruszewski and his partner Amanda Perkins, dressed like members of an upmarket motorbike gang in head-to-toe black leather outfits. The decor featured a large Route 88 sign as a nod to Mikaela Shiffrims’s 88 World Cup victories throughout the venue.

It was a star-studded night with country singer Dierks Bentley as the headliner alongside U.S. Alpine Team athlete and two-time Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin, 2022 world champion Hanna Faulhaber, and two-time Olympic medalist Alex Ferreira, both of the Stifel U.S. Freeski Team. Many key St. Louis sports figures were in attendance, including players from the St. Louis Blues, the Cubs, and the Cardinals. As a special treat, Shiffrin even joined Bentley on stage for a rendition of “I’ll Be the Moon”.

“What an amazing event this year in St. Louis… I truly didn’t think it was possible for it to be bigger and better than last year, but kudos to Ron Kruszewski and Amanda Lewis and Stifel Financial and team for raising a record $1 million+! Thank you to the St. Louis community for showing up once again.”

The event in St. Louis is the U.S. Ski & Snowboarding’s largest annual fundraiser. All funds raised will go towards the U.S. Ski & Snowboard teams. The U.S. does not have federal funding for its snowsport athletes. A lot of funding is therefore derived from corporate sponsorships and fundraisers. The $1 million raised will go a long way to help the U.S. athletes in the coming 23/24 World Cup season.
