Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue recently placed his vacation home in Truckee, CA,ย on the market for $11.9 million.
The property is located in Martis Camp, aย 671-home, 2,177-acre development with a private chairlift connecting residents to Northstar California ski resort. The golf and ski year-round community offers both custom-built homes and homesites.
According to property records, Cue purchased the land in 2010 for $1.2 million; itโs unclear how much money was spent to build the home, but it spans some 7,900 square feet using stone, wood, and large glass panes.
Completed in 2015, the retreat sits on 1.7 acres and has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Glass walls line the back of the home, offering mountain views and easy access to patios and decks.ย
In addition to a living room with fireplace, open kitchen, and dining space, the home includes a rec room with a wet bar, a wine room, and a massive master suite with a sitting area, fireplace, and sliding doors that open to a patio.ย
A guest room with bunk beds and a lofted sleeping area for kids offers a built-in seating area as well.ย
The vacation getaway is about a three-hour drive from San Francisco and on-site amenities include a day spa and fitness center, restaurants, tennis and golfing, plus aย โfamily barnโ with a bowling alley, movie theater, swimming pool, and sport courts.ย
A familiar face at many of Apple’s big product announcements, the 53-year-old joined the company in 1989 and has overseen a variety of services, from the Apple online store to iTunes music. The Miami native now leads the effort to develop original content on Apple to compete with other online streaming services such as Netflix.
The “private” chairlift mentioned in this article is not private at all. It is a separate section of the mountain, sort of, but anyone with a Northstar lift ticket has access to Martis Camp Express.
Private chairlift? I am guessing you have never skied there.
