Winter Park closed yesterday, and Breckenridge has at most another two weeks before they close. However, Arapahoe Basin chief Alan Henceroth is very confident that his resort will still be open in June.
Despite several lifts closing for the season yesterday, Henceroth remained positive in a blog post:
Sunday will be the last day of the season for the Pallavicini, Molly Hogan, and Beavers Chairlifts. The conveyor lifts will also be closed. I know some of that terrain still looks quite good. That said, looking at the forecast for next week, we think it is time to shut these lifts for the season. We will still be going strong with Black Mountain Express, Lenawee, and Zuma Chairlifts. I have very, very high confidence that The Basin will be open into June.
No matter what we do, that snow always starts melting in Spring.
Some late-season snowfall boosted the Colorado snowpack with Arapahoe Basin receiving 40″ since April 1st, and 14″ in the last couple of weeks alone. At 49″ย A-Basin’s snowpack currently sits at 87% of average, and there is more snow in the forecast.
