Colorado has waited patiently for its first snow while resorts further west received their first dusting in August.ย Thankfully, that wait is over, as images from resort webcams confirm that winter is well and truly on its way to the Centennial State.
Arapahoe Basin chief Alan Henceroth shared webcam images of snow on the peaks on his blog this morning, captioning them, “First snow. No explanation needed.”ย
Elsewhere in Colorado, Breckenridge and Keystone also received snow.
As soon as conditions allow, Arapahoe Basin will fire up its snow guns (usually toward the end of September) and hope to be the first resort in North America to open for the winter.ย Keystone has already announced it’s targeting an October opening.
Itโs not quite time to dust off and wax your skis, but itโs enough to get us stoked just thinking about winter.
