Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, the last resort open in Colorado, has announced it will remain operational for one more week. It will close on June 16 after a remarkable 222-day ski and ride seasonโ€“the longest in the state.

According to a news release, the resort cited favorable snow conditions and blue skies as the driving force behind the extended season. Live music is scheduled for Closing Day four days before the summer solstice.

“We made it to June, and today is about as nice as it gets,” said A-Basin Chief Operating Officer Alan Henceroth in his June 1st blog post. “The snow is fun, and the skies are blue.”

To preserve the snow quality, A-Basin will be closed from Monday to Thursday and open from Friday through Sunday, with lifts operating from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these weekends.

While costumes are not mandatory on Closing Day, the ski area encourages visitors to embrace the festive spirit and don their most creative attire.

A-Basin opened for the 2023-2024 season on October 29, following an overnight snowfall of nearly a foot. Last year, the resort boasted the longest season in Colorado, closing on June 4th.

Summer operations at A-Basin are scheduled to commence on June 28.
