The storm arrived in Colorado yesterday as expected, dumping up to 8″ on ski resorts across the state.ย With it came cold temperatures allowing 24/7 snowmaking at Summit County resorts Arapahoe Basin and Keystone, meaning opening day is just around the corner.
Louis Skowyra, director of lifts and slopes maintenance at Arapahoe Basin told the Summit Daily:
โWeโre really close. I think weโre going to see some openings around the county. Hopefully, weโre skiing here in a couple days.โ
Alan Henceroth, A-Basin CEO-updated his daily blog yesterday with the following update:
I am not exactly sure when, but we are going to open very soon. The snowmaking crew is raging, totally capitalizing on this tremendous weather event. Can’t wait to see the place in tomorrow’s morning light.
Whether it’s today, tomorrow, or early next week, one thing is for sure: Winter’s Here! Are you ready…?
