Temperatures plummeted and snow guns fired up at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area near Dillon, Colorado last night. Air temperatures are in the teens up there and relative humidity is low, making for the perfect time to begin making snow.
Alan Henceroth, the ski area’s COO, wrote in a blog post addressing the start of snowmaking operations:
“Last night the temperatures were perfect for snowmaking and we started making snow.ย You guys know what that means, we are just that much closer to ski season.”
