This week has been amazing with fresh powder pretty much everyday. Especially last nights storm brought the goods. It snowed 30 cm all the way down to the Valley and finally Arlbergs amazing treeruns with fun, playful terrain were full on again.
Temperatures were cold today with about -10 at 2000m which was great for holding the snow in shape. We had a couple of glimpses of sun as well. Definitely one of the top days of the season with that magical feeling you get when skiing trees on clouded pow days or dump days.
In the side country here you often find ready to go huge hand made booters. Volcom rider Simon Holzknecht tested this one with huge backside 5.
So much fun today huge sprays, pillows, cliffs and all kinds of natural hits. Truly world class terrain.
The cold weather will hang around for a bit and I’m sure we’ll be getting plenty of faceshots the next few days. Hopefully the snowpack will become more stable once the snow settles a bit. It’s been dangerous in the Alpine and still is. Two big avalanches have occurred this week at Arlberg taking the lives of two very experienced mountain guides.
Stay safe and enjoy the Powder!
