7 Ski Resorts Close on the West Coast Due to Low Snow Four more West Coast resorts have closed for due to low snow, adding to the 3 Californian ski mountains that closed last week. In Oregon, Mt. Major Winter Storm “Juno” Heading for the Northeast Winter storm Juno is about to hit the Northeast, and it’s expected to slam coastal cities like NYC, Boston, and Philadelphia with up to (and possibly over) two feet of heavy snow. Blizzard conditions are expected in 7 states. Two Skiers Killed in Austrian Avalanche | 6 Avy Deaths in 2015 On Monday afternoon, an avalanche in Western Austria left two skiers dead and one in critical condition. A group of seven Germans were skiing off piste at St. Anton am Alberg, when one skier triggered an avalanche, carrying four of them over 2,600 feet down the mountain.
