Avalanche
Highway 1 over Rogers Pass, BC was closed in both directions for most of Monday due to a massive avalanche that blocked the highway.
The pass, in Glacier National Park between Revelstoke and Golden, closed at 1 pm and reopened almost 14-hours later.
The area received more than 8″ of snow over the weekend, and the slide comes at a time when Avalanche Canada has stopped releasing their bulletins. Current snowpack in the area is 79″.
