A skier triggered this loose wet avalanche near Vail on April 24, 2020. Thankfully, nobody was caught.

This is a perfect example of how a small avalanche in the wet surface snow can quickly build into a larger more dangerous avalanche.

Move off slopes where you find more than about 5 inches of wet cohesionless snow.
