In this video, I break down what I do to dig snowpits in the backcountry to evaluate snow stability. Snowpits are a great tool to use to evaluate snow stability on a certain aspect and elevation but should be used in tandem with other methods to evaluate risk. Please educate yourself on different snowpit tests and results and how those correlate to avalanche risk.
