Snowshoe’s Ballhooter Spring Break Festival, presented by Coca-Cola, brings thousands of young adults to Snowshoe every spring break season. Spring skiing conditions, free concerts, and a vibrant nightlife scene have made the event popular with students from all over the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-West. Plenty of “non-students” travel from all over the US to attend the event, some of whom make the trip for solely for the music, but end up skiing or riding as well!

March 15-17, 2019 marks the 7th annual Ballhooter Spring Break Festival, which will be headlined by Clutch, an American rock/metal band from Maryland that is no stranger to West Virginia performances. CKY, a Pennsylvania-based rock band of MTV fame, will also be performing.

The term “ballhooter” originates from the logging industry, referring to a logger who rolls or pitches logs down the mountain. Snowshoe adopted the term to one of its intermediate runs, and it also happens to make a great name for a wild spring break festival!
