Beartooth Pass on US-212 in Montana is currently closed due to blowing and driving snow and high winds and has been closed for the past 5 days.
The Pass closed on Thursday, June 20th, 2019, at 7:30 pm and is currently closed as of this writing (10:30 am PDT).ย
Beartooth Pass is closed at the Statelineย due to snow & blowing on the top on the Wyoming side. Travelers on the MT side can leave Red Lodge and go up the MT side but will need to turn around at the Statelineย and return to Red Lodge. The weather changes rapidly on Beartooth Pass from adverse weather conditions. Also watch for ice & snow on MT side also. Thank you and travel safely.
The closure goes from Vista Point on the Montana side to Stateline on the Wyoming side.ย There is currently no estimated time of reopening for Beartooth Pass.
SnowBrains headed up that way over the weekend to ski Beartooth Basin and was lucky enough to be one of a handful to be allowed through the closed gate and escorted to the ski area. Of course, with fresh snow and nobody else able to get there, it was freakin’ awesome! Check out our report…
Pretty mental that weโre having road closures in Montana/Wyoming in late-June for 5-days straight!ย Is that a record…?
Heavy snow hit the west over the weekend, with Steamboat, CO getting almost 2-feet of fresh summer powder. Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park, CO also closed briefly over the weekendย due to snowy conditions.
