The Winter Olympics just got a helluva lot more entertaining.  Big Air is by far the most fun park/X-games event to watch and draws the most viewers.  Itโ€™s simple:  go big and do amazing trips.  Spectators get that and line up for Big Air events.

โ€œBig air in snowboarding, big air in freestyle skiing [we just learned this is incorrect (12:42pm), there will be no skiing big air), mass start in speedskating and mixed doubles in curling were approved during the IOCโ€™s board meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Monday. The new events were proposed for inclusion by the respective federations before this weekโ€™s meeting.โ€ โ€“ Los Angeles Times

โ€œThe changes reflect the continued evolution of the Winter Olympic program and build on the success of recent editions of the games,โ€ the IOC said in a statement. โ€œThey also build on the reforms outlined in Olympic Agenda 2020, which aim to create more flexibility into the Olympic program of the Olympic Games.โ€

The IOCโ€™s idea is to make the Winter Olympics more entertaining and they nailed it with this Big Air addition.  Itโ€™s great that they added both snowboarding and skiing big air.

To win Big Air these day, you have to throw some kind of Triple Flip/Cork.  By 2018, the boys will have them on lock.  A couple of snowboarders have even landed Quadruple Corks nowโ€ฆ
