Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY opened for the season on Saturday with 18” of fresh snow and 79” of total snowfall already. With the last minute addition of the Teton Lift, five lifts spun providing powder-hungry skiers and riders 2,700-feet of vertical. The opening lineup included: Teton, Casper, Apres Vous, Teewinot, and the Sweetwater Gondola.
Opening day dropped 18″ in the previous 48 hours, 8″ of fresh in the 24-hours before, and storm skiing throughout the day. The mountain skied like a dream. Sweetwater Gondola conveniently escorted skiers and riders up the mountain, in tandem with Teewinot and AV, in no time.
“With more snow on the way we will evaluate opening new lifts and terrain in the coming week,” stated Tim Mason Vice President of Operations. “Our mountain operations staff has done an exceptional job preparing the mountain for the season and the brand new Solitude Station opened today for kids rentals and lessons. RPK3, the newest base area restaurant next to the tram is scheduled to open early December.”
