It’s May 2nd… It’s May 2nd and Colorado is winning. In the past month Loveland has gotten 120” of snow. Not a bad spring for the Loveland Pass area. Today is a verified powder day up there. Temperatures are going to stay low with a high of only 23F today then dropping down to 12F tonight.
Be VERY careful in the backcountry this week. We already know there are persistent weak layers and plenty of new snow. The CAIC is only updating 3 times per week. Go here for the statewide avalanche forecast: CAIC. Be safe.
COLORADO SNOW REPORT:
– Loveland Pass ski area to 21” of snow in the past 24 hours.
– Arapahoe Basin ski area got 7” of snow in the past 24 hours.
Can’t complain about may pow.
Looks sick. Work is lame today
