You HAVE GOT to watch this video from Nasa about Saturn’s Hurricane
This is spectacular. It’s almost hard to believe. Saturn has a hurricane that is locked onto it’s North Pole. It was just discovered. It’s an enormous storm that’s eye is 1,250 miles across. Learn more below:
SATURN HURRICANE FACTS:
– NASA’s Cassini space probe took these photos & has been in orbit around Saturn for 9 years.
– 300 mph winds are blowing in this hurricane (that’s 4 times hurricane force winds)
– The eye of this hurricane is 1,250 miles across
– The fluffy clouds in the middle are the size of Texas
– High clouds are Red, low clouds are Green
– This hurricane is locked onto the north pole
SATURN FACTS:
– Made of gas
– 755 times bigger than Earth
– May have a solid core
– Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, is the only moon in the Solar System to possess an atmosphere
– Saturn would float in water (i.e. it’s very low in density)
– 1 day on Saturn (1 revolution) = 10.5 Earth hours
– 1 year on Saturn (one orbit of Sun) = 30 Earth years
