Breckenridge Resort, CO Employee Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Stabbing Incident at Slopeside Restaurant

On January 7, 2020, at approximately 0944 hours, the Breckenridge Police Department was called to the Coppertop Café, located in the Beaver Run Resort at the base of Peak 9, for a physical altercation with one subject stabbed.

The preliminary investigation indicates that two employees of the resort, a 38-and 40-year-old male, were involved in a physical fight during which one subject assaulted the other with a knife. Both received injuries and were transported to the Summit Medical Center for treatment. A third employee was injured while attempting to break up the fight. He was treated at the Breckenridge Medical Center and released.

All parties are Breckenridge residents and are known to each other. There is no danger to the community. The 40-year-old victim has been admitted for further treatment. The 38-year-old suspect has been lodged at the Summit County Jail for Attempted Murder and Felony Menacing.
