Eating Sh$% Trying To Ski Pillows in British Columbia, Canada

Report from January 20, 2025

On Monday we couldnโ€™t decide what to do.

Iโ€™d gone backcountry skiing 15 of the past 19 days and was simply exhausted.

We decided to go for the same pillows Iโ€™d skied on January 12.

It took 4 hours to get to them and we had a few options and none of them looked right.

We slinked back into the pillows.

What I didnโ€™t realize was that the last time I hit the pillows they were kinda perfectโ€ฆ

Deep snow, poofy pillows, no tracks.

This time the snow was less deep, the pillows were too fast, and there were some tracks in there.

We gave it our all, but I crashed 3 times and even lost a ski!

Fortunately, Aaron got a video of my best crash and it was spectacular.

The biggest plus of this day was that we scoped some new terrain that we plan on coming back to.

Itโ€™s all part of the learning process.

Now, we just need some restโ€ฆ

Thanks, BC!
