Winter 2022/Spring 2023 will mark the first season of Burtonโ€™s reenvisioned Mystery Series, an inclusive banked slalom event series welcoming all riders and celebrating the global snowboarding community. With 21 events worldwide, the series has expanded to push progression, connection, and good times for all ages and abilities under the shared love of snowboarding.

The 2022-2023 Burton Mystery Series tour kicks off in December and wraps up in May. It includes a wide range of engaging and inclusive events that will take place worldwide in Austria, China, Finland, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States. Each event will focus on the playfulness of a banked slalom format accessible to riders of all skill levels, where itโ€™s not about winning or losing. Slush Magazine recently sat down with the late Jake Burton Carpenterโ€™s eldest son George who illustrated Burtonโ€™s mission to make snowboarding more inclusive and accessible to a global audience explaining,

โ€œThe Burton Mystery Series combines the best elements of snowboarding to create community. These grassroots events are a celebration of the sport and lifestyle we all love. Weโ€™re focusing on snowboarding inclusivity and accessibility by partnering with resorts and city municipalities who are dedicated to sharing the love of snowboarding with everyone. Simultaneously, weโ€™re creating the space for our pro athletes to inspire the next generation of riders with their talent. This format creates a shared sense of belonging between all levels of snowboarders: from the top athletes in the world to those who have never snowboarded before. Weโ€™re going to do what we do best โ€“ have fun together. Invite the whole family – youโ€™ll fall more in love with our community and our sport!โ€

Coming to a local hill near you, the Burton Mystery Series will feature product giveaways, athlete demos, meet & greets, and BBQ/aprรจs hangouts. Itโ€™s a contest ensuring snowboarders have as much fun as possible with their friends, the chance to shred with some of their favorite pros, and the opportunity to progress their riding in unconventional ways. In Burtonโ€™s words, an open mind is all you need.
