If you’ve been to Teton Village recently to ride at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), then you know the parking lots have seen a big upgrade. The Teton Village Association (TVA) has modernized the parking experience by automating the gate process to increase efficiency and accuracy on each parking lot’s real-time capacity.
With these upgrades come some changes to the parking situation. What isn’t changing is that all parking in Teton Village is still on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests will be issued a parking ticket number when they enter any of the four Village parking areas and will pay upon exit.
The most significant change is the requirement to have four people in a car to park for free in the Ranch Lot. This is an increase from three people in the last several seasons. Carpool vehicles with three people will still qualify for a discounted daily rate.
For those who will have to pay for parking, the rates will be different based on whether the day is considered a peak day. Peak season rates will apply from December 26 – January 2, January 13 – January 15, and February 16 – February 19, as well as weekends from January 6 – March 24, 2024. The cost breakdown is as follows:
Ranch Lot
- Daily Parking Rate: $18
- Peak Parking Rate: $25
- Carpool of four or more: Free
- Carpool of three: $5, Peak: $10
For the Closer-in parking lots, which include the Village, Crystal Springs, and Cody Lot, the prices are as follows:
- Daily Parking Rate: $35 per vehicle
- Peak Parking Rate: $45 per vehicle
For comparison, last season the Ranch Lot was $15 a day and $20 for peak rates. The close-in lots were $30 and $40 for peak days. This represents roughly a $5 increase per day from last season. TVA said parking rates had not increased since 2019.
It is also important to note that other free and discounted parking is available by showing up later in the day. After 1:00 p.m., the Ranch Lot is free for anyone. The close-in lots drop to $10 after 1:00 p.m. and free after 3:00 p.m., except the Crystal Springs Lot which is free after 5:00 p.m.
The goal is to continue to mitigate traffic impacts and provide a quality guest experience. The TVA will continue to offer the public bus system START (Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit) Bus, which is aย cheap and efficient way to travel around the Teton Valley. A one-way trip from downtown Jackson to Teton Village costs $3 per person. They also provide a free Stilson Express shuttle service for employees and guests connecting Teton Village to the Stilson Lot during peak times of the day.
