The NOAA is predicting the storm on track for Colorado to dump multiple inches of snow on ski areas over the weekend, favoring the northern and central mountain areas.
However colder temperatures and strong CAA could bring conditions more favorable for the champagne snow we expect in this area. Will leave the finer details for a later discussion but this could be a decent storm from the northern San Juans up through the northern Colorado mountain ranges through Monday afternoon.
Steamboat looks like being the winner here, with the most optimistic estimations topping out at 16″.ย
Loveland and Vail could see up to 12″, A-Basin, Breckenridge, and Copper 11″, Keystone and Winter Park and Aspen 10″.
With a couple of resorts already open, and many more making snow in anticipation of opening within the next week or so, this storm will add some more welcome natural snow to resort bases.ย Steamboat is scheduled to open on 23rd November.
Snow will fall as low as 7,000-feet giving the majority of ski resort base areas snowfall, with the higher accumulations above 9,000-feet.
Temperatures will drop to the low teens, with winds gusting up to 29-mph.
