The powder faucet has been turned on, and there are no signs of it turning off. With 10″ of snow overnight and 20″ in the past 24 hours, Copper Mountain in Colorado has surpassed 100″ of season-to-date snow. And it’s only November 27.
The resort is currently the snowiest in Colorado, having seen 81″ snowfall since November 1 and having a 45″ base, which is 154% of average.
It’s the second snowiest November at Copper of all time and could be the first before the month’s end. The snowiest ever was the 1983-84 season with 90″
Copper has eight lifts open, but the resort will have four more spinning in the next few days. Super Bee Lift will start running on Thanksgiving. Sierra and Rendezvous lifts will open on Friday. Woodward Express lift is scheduled to open on Monday. With more lifts operating, guests can expect to see a lot of new terrain open on the mountain. To stay updated on terrain and lift openings, visit CopperColorado.com. Guests are asked to be mindful of trail closures, as they are in place for your safety.
Copper’s new Timberline Express lift officially opened last Saturday. The resort will commemorate the new lift with an opening celebration tomorrow morning (Thanksgiving), including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, swag giveaways, and the debut of a new beer created specifically for the new lift with Odell Brewing Co.
