Copper Mountain, CO, Opens Mid-Mountain Lodge ‘Aerie’ at the Top of American Eagle Chondola

This week, Copper Mountain, Colorado, proudly celebrated the grand opening of its much-anticipated mid-mountain lodge, Aerie. Nestled at the top of the American Eagle chondola, the two-story, 25,000-square-foot lodge is poised to redefine on-mountain dining experiences in Colorado. 

Guests have been relishing the Aerie experience since its soft opening on Copper’s Opening Day, November 13, 2023. The resort officially marked the completion of the state-of-the-art lodge with a grand opening celebration attended by employees, partners from the U.S. Forest Service, contractors, and community leaders, all of whom played crucial roles in bringing this project to fruition.

The Aerie is more than just a lodge, it’s an unrivaled offering in Colorado. The lodge features a variety of cuisine options from a coffee shop with freshly baked pasties to multiple bars, a private event space, a five-station food hall offering items like stone-fired pizza and ramen station, and most notably, a signature sit-down restaurant, Forage and Feast. The gondola unloads on the second-floor deck, providing a seamless transition for all guests, whether arriving by foot or ski.

Upcoming Events at Aerie

Christmas Eve Dinner at Forage & Feast
On December 24, Celebrate the holiday with an unforgettable evening at Copper’s new, unparalleled mid-mountain lodge, Aerie. Travel via gondola to 11,200 feet for dinner at Forage & Feast, serving a five-course meal featuring fresh, local, organic ingredients. Dinner seatings start at 7:30pm, guests are welcome to arrive prior to their reservation to view the 7:15pm fireworks show and enjoy a cocktail at the Forage & Feast bar.

Aerie New Years Eve Celebration and Fireworks
Ring in 2024 close to the clouds from 6-11pm on December 31st at Aerie’s mid-mountain New Year’s Eve celebration. Travel from Center Village via gondola starting at 5:45pm to 11,200 feet where baked brie, charcuterie, crudité, and hand-passed appetizers will be waiting for you and your crew amidst scenic views. Dinner food station selections start at 6:45pm and include grilled tomahawk & cauliflower steak, a raw seafood bar, portobello fries, baked oysters, and roasted chicken & veggies, all topped off with decadent desserts from the Copper bakeshop. Enjoy two floors of entertainment; the lower level will boast a lively, upbeat environment with a live band and the upper level will offer a DJ with a more relaxed setting where you can reminisce on the best moments from 2023. Ring in the New Year at 10pm (midnight on the East Coast) with a champagne toast and exclusive viewing of a jaw-dropping fireworks show.
