Summer gets underway at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado, this Saturday, June 8, with activities and offerings for every kind of summer adventurer. The resort will welcome guests for the 2024 summer season with DJ Red spinning tracks at Butte 66 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and a variety of hiking and mountain biking trails to explore. Trails that will be open to the public on opening day include Hotdogger, Luge, Awakening, Downtime, Teaser, Lower Avery, and Tower 4.
CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT KICKS OFF THE SUMMER SEASON
CBMR will be open daily for the 2024 summer season from June 8 through Sept. 2 and will remain open on Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 29. Guests can look forward to a wide variety of offerings this summer, including:
- Hiking and scenic chairlift rides via Red Lady Express and Silver Queen Express*
- Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park & bike haul via Red Lady Express
- Adventure Park activities include a bungee trampoline, climbing wall, and gem panning**
- High Alpine archery course
- Two disc golf courses
- Summer camps for children ages 5-14
*Silver Queen Express will open to the public on June 22, conditions permitting.

Mountain bikers will enjoy riding Sharpshooter, our new intermediate trail that opened last summer. Sharpshooter splits off from Downtime and leads to the base of Red Lady Express with several small-to-medium sized jumps along the way. And new for summer 2024, Class 1 e-bikes are now permitted on Red Lady Express and throughout the CBMR bike park.

Summer Events at Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Back by popular demand, Twilight Hours are returning to the bike park this summer! Beginning on June 28 and continuing every Friday in July, guests with a day ticket or pass can continue riding until 7:00 p.m. A discounted “Twilight Ticket” will be available for lift access between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Fuel Your CBMR Summer Adventures
CBMR guests have another dining option in the base area this season. This will be the first summer for the all-new Highlife Crust & Crafts in The Grand Lodge Hotel next to the transit center. Highlife serves made-to-order breakfast for morning dine-in, take-out, and grab-and-go options. They have pizzas and draft brews in the afternoon and evening, along with happy hour specials with to-go pizza slices from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Diners can watch sports on the big-screen TVs while they eat or call ahead at (970) 349-8030 to place an order to go.
Guests looking to sit under the summer sun can dine at Butte 66 Bar & Grill: the best place in the base area for smokehouse barbecue with a lively après scene and happy hour specials from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. every day. For those looking for a mid-mountain break, The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks sits at the top of the Painter Boy chairlift, offering signature views of the Gunnison Valley and various food options for the whole family. Guests can hike, bike, or drive to The Umbrella Bar, allowing maximum accessibility to this scenic spot. The Umbrella Bar opens for summer on June 28.
