Clean Up The Lake, renowned for their successful 72 Mile Cleanup project, is excited to announce the Grand Opening Ceremony & Celebration of their Environmental Dive Center (EDC) at Lake Tahoe, NV,ย on August 17th, 2023. The EDC will be a hybrid between a conservation dive school and an environmental science center located in Incline Village, NV.ย
This effort has been made possible so far by the Founding Partners of the EDC raising $200,000 to date from partners including Boatworks Mall, Lake Tahoe Community College, Tahoe Beach Club, Nila Ruslen & Pavel Pragin, Marv & Patti Hovatter, and Victoria Rosauer. The organization is still actively seeking donations, founding partners, and naming rights opportunities for this monumental effort to protect Lake Tahoe. The fundraising campaign is set to conclude when they reach their final goal of $450,000 or in late September.
The Grand Opening Ceremony will occur the morning of August 17th, from 9:00AM – 10:30AM and will have bountiful visual and interview opportunities for members of the press, partners and certain community members to tour and visit the Environmental Dive Center.ย Later that evening from 4:00PM – 8:00PM, the center will open to the general public for a grand opening celebration with opportunities to learn more about the Environmental Dive Center, to sign up, and of course celebrate the monumental effort.

Clean Up The Lake has now removed over 65,000 pounds of litter from their local environment, most of which is under the surface of local lakes.ย Their mission is to activate local communities to protect their environment both above and below the surface.The Environmental Dive Center marks their largest and longest lasting endeavor yet as a public charity.ย
