Astronomically speaking, summer officially begins on June 20, 2025, with the summer solstice, but according to the Farmersโ€™ Almanac Summer 2025 Weather Forecast, temperatures may rise before then.

Excessive Heat Warning

The Farmersโ€™ Almanac forecasts warmer-than-average summer weather for most of the nation, warning that โ€œThe Heat is On!โ€ This is not great news, especially since recent summers have ranked as the hottest summers in recent history. Editor Sandi Duncan says, โ€œOur extended forecast suggests a very long, hot summer with unrelenting heat. July may be the month when records are broken nationwide.โ€

Rainfall Returns to Near Normal

New England and the Northeast have experienced abnormally wet summers in recent years. While occasional heavy downpours are predicted this summer, the Farmersโ€™ Almanac long-range predictions call for near-average summer precipitation in those areas.

Wildfire Watch

However, the Far West may be drier than average, which could lead to widespread wildfire activity.
