Cody Townsend is selling the trusty van that has transported him thousands of miles around North America during his YouTube quest to ski all 50 lines chronicled in the book, “The Fifty Classic Descents of North America” by Chris Davenport, Penn Newhard, and Art Burrows.

“This 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 4×4 was outfitted for use as a camper by Alpine Vans in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. The van is wrapped in green vinyl over black leatherette upholstery and powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a kitchenette with a three-burner stove, as well as a Flarespace bed system, an Arctic Tern window, rooftop solar panels, storage cabinets, Maxxair power vents, side steps, Eberspacher heaters, and a 400Ah battery system with a REDARC Manager30 battery management system. Additional features consist of a Van Compass Stage 4.3 suspension and skid plate kit, a ski rack, a receiver hitch, a rearview camera, swiveling seats, 17″ Black Rhino wheels, and a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. This Sprinter 2500 4×4 camper has 34k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment in California with a window sticker, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.”
10% of the sale will be donated to Share Winter Foundation, dedicated to helping disadvantaged kids get into the mountains and on skis.
The sale is an auction, and bidding ends Wednesday, 26th April 2023. At the time of writing, the auction price is at $77,007.
Cody Townsend has shared 43 of the 50 lines on YouTube. With the van being up for sale, I imagine the other seven have been completed, and we are just waiting for them to be released.
