After much anticipation, the Freeride World Tour (FWT) calendar for 2024 has officially been released. The Instagram post by FWT recently announced the full season schedule, including a new venue and additional sixth stop on the tour in Georgia.
Things will kick off once again this year in Spain at the Baqueira Beret Pro. Then, the athletes take off to the Ordino ArcalÃs Pro in Andorra, followed by the Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro in Canada. Now, the last stop before the finals is also at the newest event, the Georgia Pro in, you guessed it, Georgia. After that, the FWT finals start with the Fieberbrunn Pro in Austria, before finishing off the season in Switzerland at the exciting Yeti Xtreme Verbier.

Every winter, the best big-mountain freeride skiers and snowboarders from all around the world compete on some of the gnarliest terrain across the globe; much to our viewing enjoyment. The Freeride World Tour, along with the FWT Challenger, Qualifier, and Junior circuit have taken off in popularity over the last decade. These incredibly talented athletes ski and ride (and straight up send) some absolutely absurd mountain faces and natural features, ultimately hoping to rise in the ranks, and claim first place on the Freeride World Tour.
The excitement continues to build for us fans around the world, as well as for all of the awesome athletes as this winter approaches. Brian Stenerson, a snowboarder out of Lake Tahoe, secured his spot on this year’s Freeride World Tour through a win in last year’s Challenger events. I asked him what his first thoughts were on hearing about the new Georgia Pro event, and what he was looking forward to the most about the new venue and location.
“I’m hyped to hear of an additional event before the cut. It will give riders another stop to showcase their abilities before the finals and hopefully even the playing field for all athletes, since no one has competed there before. Georgia wasn’t previously on my radar as a big snowboarding destination but the more I learn about the more excited I am to ride there.”
