The last few days at Steamboat Ski Resort have not disappointed. Sunday, November 24th and Monday, November 25th both provided minimal crowds and some fun early season conditions. The few runs that are open have a variety of side hits and some soft snow on the edges of the runs. There is also a small terrain park with rails, boxes, a few jumps, and a half-pipe at the base of the mountain.
The new gondola is up and running now, providing access to the intermediate/advanced run, Heavenly Days, from mid-mountain. Early season conditions are still very present across the mountain but a good-sized storm should be sinking in this evening to provide some fresh snow for the latter half of the week.
Unfortunately, the gondola experienced some mechanical issues and is down for the meantime but Steamboat Resort hopes to have it running again within a few days. Thunderhead Express is open for the meantime so there is still access to mid-mountain.
