The NOAA has issued a ‘hazardous weather outlook‘ for Wyoming this weekend, particularly the Western Mountains, which is good news for ski resorts.ย According to the NOAA, Grand Targhee could see 10-inches of fresh snow before the weekend is out, and OpenSnow is even more optimistic, saying it could be up to 17″.
Friday...Saturday...and Sunday...Light snow over the western mountains on Thursday night into early Friday, with rain and snow showers spreading eastward on Friday. A better chance of precipitation, especially snow, should occur over most of the area late Saturday into Sunday. The western mountains could see 4 to 10 inches. Temperatures will be colder Sunday and Monday.
Temperatures will drop, with lows down to 19ยบF.ย Snow will accumulate down to 7,000-feet.
Grand Targhee is scheduled to open on 22nd November, and with snow already on the ground and more to come, opening day might just be one to remember.
