The Great Divide Ski Area will be the first ski area in Montana to open for the new season this Saturday.
Thanks to early-season snow and cold temperatures, the staff have been making snow for the last week or so.
The resort has received 25″ of snow this season, 8″ in the previous 5 days, and has a 7″ base (292% of normal for this time of year.)
2020’s October 31st opening was the earliest ever. In 2021 it opened on November 26th, inย 2019 it was November 9th, in 2018 it opened on November 10th, and in 2017 November 11th.
Likely operating on Saturday will be the Good Luck Chairlift on the lower mountain as well as the backyard towrope.
