June Mountain Ski Area, located just 25 miles north of Mammoth Mountain, is a true hidden gem of the Eastern Sierra. The laid back vibe, incredible views of the surrounding mountains and lakes, and low crowds make it an excellent destination for skiing and riding.

Known as โ€œCaliforniaโ€™s Family Mountainโ€, plenty of terrain options are available for every level of skier. Learn for the first time or hone your skills in one of June Mountain Ski Schoolโ€™s less crowded lessons, or on the variety of wide-open beginner and intermediate runs.ย The Face is full of expert terrain where you can pick a new line on each run, especially on a powder day! Looking for leftover pow? Try the Spike Camp Trees off of Rainbow Summit. An unbeatable perk of skiing and riding at June Mountain? Kids 12 and under ski free.

Wondering where to eat or what to do before or after skiing? Whether you are staying in June Lake or surrounding areas, start your day with a coffee and breakfast from The Lift. Once at the mountain, the June Meadows Chalet is a perfect stop for second breakfast (or lunch)- the โ€œMountain Muffinโ€ is a staple! Stop for a beverage at the newly updated Antler Bar in the Chalet and enjoy โ€œthe best view in the Eastern Sierraโ€. The Lunchbox, located between Chair J3 and J7, is another option for a break, where you can enjoy a snack in the sunshine.ย

Once your day on the hill is done, a beer at June Lake Brewing and some Huli Huli chicken tacos from Ohanas395 are a must. The Tiger Bar, an old-school June Lake staple, as well as Gordoโ€™s Mexican Food and June Pie, are other delicious options. If you are looking for some nighttime fun, enjoy the live music at the T-Bar Social Club on the weekends.
