I-80 Remains Closed With No Opening In Sight Due To Heavy Snowfall & Avalanche Debris In The Roadway

I-80 remains closed with no estimated time for as to when it may reopen.

Heavy snowfall continues to impact the area, which has resulted in avalanche debris on the roadway.

Crews are attempting to clean it up, but it’s proving to be difficult.

Along with that, the plow train got derailed and stuck up at Soda Springs.ย As a result, the rotary plows will be in action tomorrow.

I-80 is currently closed from Colfax, in Placer County, to the Nevada state line.

The storm is slowing down a bit, but the clean up is proving to be difficult.

Plow train got derailed and stuck up at Soda Springs. The rotary plows on the railroad will start tomorrow! Itโ€™s been a few years since those have run!

As well parts of I-80 continue to Avalanche on to the roadway!
