What a week in Tetons! Jackson Hole Resort has reported snowfall everyday the past week and it looks like the big storm systems are on the way for the Holidays!!!ย Over 20 inches of snow have fallen since last weekend on the upper mountain, and with a winter storm watch in effect Monday until Wednesday the holiday week is shaping up to be a pretty powdery one!!
All lifts on the mountain are now OPEN!! Including the new Teton lift that accesses a lower area of the Crags which was formally accessed only by hiking! The Hobacks and the Lower Faces are currently closed due to thin coverage, but I would expect, if the forecast holds true we will see them open at some point over the week. The Headwall, Upper Crags and Casper bowl have yet to see tracks this season so look for openings as the coverage allows.
The snow has been incredible!ย It has been staying cold, and with snowfall everyday it has not been hard finding the good riding!
The New Teton Lift is OPEN!ย Opening on Jackson’s 50th anniversary this past Saturday the Teton lift takes skiers and riders to a lower section of the Crags that was formally hike to terrain. The resort has shaped a few groomed runs from the top of the lift with a little more than 1700′ vertical feet, but the off trail riding is something else. Holding a consistentย not to steep, not too mellow pitch, the terrain in this area might be some of the more playful in the resort boundaries!
SNOW FORECAST
It’s going to DUMP!!!ย Well supposedly, but even if the numbers dip with the soft base, it’s still going skiing all time with just a few inch’s! WINTER STORM WATCHย this week with snowfall expected everyday!
