300″ and Counting! Jackson Hole Conditions Jackson Hole surpassed 300″ of snow on the year during this past week! The majority of the snow fell in one 24 hour period bringing 15″ of heavy snow and wind. The snow fell at relatively “warmer” temperatures, the heavy density snow did an incredible job covering up the havoc left by the rain that fell the week before. Icy moguls and tracked out runs were reset by the storm giving skiers and riders smooth lines from the top to the bottom. Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | February 22, 2016 0 Comments

Jackson Hole, WY Conditions Report: Putting on the Pounds… While areas in California and the pacific northwest have been drawing attention for impressive early season snowfalls, Jackson Hole has quietly been putting on the pounds. Early season snowfalls may have not been epic by any means, but the snow making crew at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has be killing it!! Cold temps with moderate snowfall have allowed the resort to open a good amount of terrain for early December. Snow makers have allowed for Apre Vous mountain to open quite a few groomed runs while natural snowfall around the Casper lift area have given skiers and riders the opportunity to ski the natural snow. Jackson Hole Condition Report: Spring Pow Jackson Hole recieved a little over a foot of the white stuff last week reminding us that winter is not over yet. The 300″ mark was crossed with the last system coming through mid week bringing a much needed refresh to the area. The first significant snowfall in weeks covered the mess left behind by a early spring thaw and reminded us that it is still ski season. The new snow fell on top of a refrozen crust from the warm temps over the weeks before, but the amount we received did a good job covering the firmness up. The slick crusts under the new snow combined with warm temps allowed the snow to easily move upon the older layer. […] Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | March 30, 2015 0 Comments
Jackson Hole Conditions: Fun in the Sun Warm temps and spring conditions have prevailed over the last few weeks, thankfully with the heavy snow we received early in the season our base is still holding in there. Spring is all about timing when it comes to skiing, too early and it’s bulletproof, too late and it sticky slush, but when you find the right balance conditions can be incredible. In the resort area groomers and been firm and fast in the mornings. Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | March 21, 2015 0 Comments
Jackson Hole Spring Daze! Spring is the most interesting time of the year in the Tetons, from one day to the next you can go from skiing corn slush in a tee shirt to waist deep pow in freezing temps. So far this month it seems as spring is prevailing with more of the sun and less of the moisture, maybe mother nature is just leveling out the early season heavy snowfall we had. Never the less, there have been absolutely fantastic spring conditions in Jackson, and for the powder hungry people it’s out there if you’re willing to go searching! Spring in February in Jackson Hole?? Well it had to happen at some point, the constant storms plaguing the mountains of Wyoming and putting smiles on skiers faces seem to have moved elsewhere. Conditions around the Jackson area have been variable to say the least. Resort skiing has been interesting, going between slush one day and coral reef refreeze the next. The spring conditions have been nice for sleeping in and grabbing late day corn groomers. Those daring enough to go out in the mornings have surly been feeling sore knees after a few runs on the refreeze. The resort may not be skiing that well but the snow is not all bad in the valley. The Cycle Continues in Jackson Hole Just when it looks as if spring is setting in, Jackson gets another system bringing heavy snow to the area, leaving nothing but smiles on skier and riders faces, and giving a great refresh to one of the best snowpacks in the country! Last week saw a system come through bringing heavy snow and double digit numbers on the snow report. Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | February 13, 2015 4 Comments
Return of the Pow in Jackson Hole!! After 2 weeks of dry air in Jackson Hole mother nature is bringing back the POW! The past few days have been fantastic with a nice coat of fresh paint covering the Teton area. Jackson Hole resort has seen a foot of snow in the last 48 hours with promise of more in the forecast! The 2 weeks prior to the last few days there was not much to talk about. Temps and solar zapped most terrain in the area Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | February 3, 2015 0 Comments
Jackson Hole in January = Blue Skies & Deep Pow The Jackson Hole area received a small storm last week followed by blue skies allowing many Jackson riders and skiers to get in the higher alpine, and some of the more fun lines in the area. The moderate amount of snow received on top of the all ready deep base made for perfect alpine riding.Cody Peak and most everything off it got hammered in the first few days of blue skies, but thats kind of how it goes around here. Inbounds was riding great after the storm, but with the easy lift access it got hammered quickly. There are still plenty of shaded North facing stashes out there! Jackson gets it Again! Just when it looks like Jackson is getting out of the storm cycle they get it again. A week ago with a grim forecast it looked as if Jackson was going to get out of the weather flow that has been creating awesome conditions all winter. Then the blobs of moisture start to appear on the radar and get bigger and bigger, and where do they move to, Jackson of course. A warmer and dry start to the week was replaced by snow and made very excited skiers and snowboarders. Crusty, iced over, sun effected snow of early week became a glorious coat of a heavier dense snow over the weekend. The heavy wet snow was much needed to cover the havoc the sun and warm temps did to it. […] Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | January 19, 2015 0 Comments
Fun in the Sun in Jackson! The past week started by ending a huge powder cycle that Jackson has been in the middle of. Overcast and snowy skies were replace by clear skies at higher elevation and a fog that lingered in the valley. The Sea of Dreams as it is known in these parts stayed with us most of the week with the exception of a few days where overcast skies prevailed. Snowfall over the last week was the lowest we have seen maybe since it started snowing for the season. That being said there is still some really good snow out there. Cold temps and small crowds have helped preserve the snowpack. North facing aspects are still holding very strong with minimal crust, and if you go looking for it there is still plenty of pow to be found on these aspects. Why Aren’t You in Jackson Hole? 207″ of Snow This Season! Jackson Hole Wyoming is absolutely killing it! Jackson has been getting a glorious dumping of snow once a week followed by a few sunny days and the repeating itself!! Storm cycles in the area have been ridiculous! A foot here, bluebird, a foot there, more blue sky, it’s been non stop!! After the last big storm Jackson locals and vistitors enjoyed blue skies and light snow, the coverage here is excellent and everyone is taking full advantage! Between storms is always the best time to find the good snow. The day before the report read 20 plus inches the lines seem shorter, everyone is […] Conditions Report Cooper Kahlenberg | January 6, 2015 2 Comments
