Brought to you by Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Spring seems to have paid an early visit to Jackson Hole in the Teton Mountains, and it’s been corn o’clock all over the famed slopes of Mountain Resort.ย
Clusters of cloud, like so many light-footed albino buffalo–have occasionally made the migration around the valley but in-between those herds, it’s been glory days of strong sun, soft turns, and plenty of room to roam.
The fantastically spacious ski experience (which definitely causes a happy double-take or two) is thanks to taking a quick second to reserve the pass ahead of time. Locals in the know navigate a carefully thought-out ticketing and pass reservation system at JHMR. And it wisely encompasses everything–from day tickets to the Mountain Collective or IKON passes. Considering the rewards, to reserve ahead is well-worth a second of extra planning.
The resulting smiles are plenty wide, as skiers and snowboarders glide straight to the chair or stroll right to the gondola door. Lift rides as easy-quick as these absolutely add shine to any ski day.
And ‘shine’ has been the action word at JHMR, the terrain all across Mountain Resort is brilliant–literally and figuratively. Naturally, there are many sets of eyes rightly glued to forecast models searching, waiting for powder snow–which is on its way. In the meanwhile, there’s been opportunity to lose a layer-or-two and enjoy a planks-on, mountainside hootenanny.
That get-loose attitude goes hand-in-hand with classic good times, and both are alive and very well on the slopes above Teton Village.ย
Past ski days at JHMR have been characterized by mid-lap antics, daring ensembles, smiley lifties, and timeless Jackson Hole views.
To line out the day in simplest terms:
Free parking waits just down the road, where a free bus runs door-to-door service. Advanced ticketing reservation means a pass is waiting in the friendly hands of Ticketing & Guest Services, which literally is directly below Tram Dock.
Bing, Bang; Boots on. It’s a full day of turns and ear-to-ear smiles.
This brings us to the best part of the report: the promising outlook for the week ahead. A winter storm watch is currently in place for mid-week (see below) which implies an extra wisdom in sorting out those reserved tickets.
Fingers crossed for the white room to return to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the stunner Teton Range.
