2nd Annual Ski in Jeans Event Kicks Off Destination December

Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) announced today that it set the world record for the most people skiing and riding in jeans on Saturday, December 7, drawing 3,320 participants for the Resortโ€™s 2nd Annual Ski In Jeans Day.

JMHR set the previous record with the first iteration of the wildly popular event last year, drawing 3,114 participants. Blue skies and pleasant early-season conditions greeted guests this time, as thousands of visitors in blue jeans, jean jacks, and denim skirts filed through an arch set up at the base area to be officially counted for the new world record.

Guests also received exclusive JHMR patches to customize their denim and enjoyed special giveaways, drink deals, and the chance to ride a mechanical bull during aprรจs-ski celebrations in Teton Village. JHMR also offered a photo booth where participants could capture the moment with printed and digital imagery.

โ€œThe first Ski in Jeans Day last year was such a runaway success we knew we had to bring the event back this year. And our guests certainly didnโ€™t disappoint. Weโ€™re thrilled so many people showed up from all around the world to set the new record, and we canโ€™t wait for more guests to experience Destination December events as the holiday season approaches.โ€

– Ned Wonson, Director of Marketing at JHMR

As part of Destination December, JHMR will host the new Kids on Snow event from December 13-15, during which all children 12 and under will ski for free the entire weekend, regardless of skill level. Kids on Snow will also offer $100 group ski lessons on December 13 and the chance to experience dog sledding or a tour of the Resort inside the belly of a snow groomer on December 14. Other opportunities include discounted lodging and the Teton Village Shop and Sip, where guests can start their holiday shopping with their favorite cocktail.

JHMR will close out 2024 with its 10-day Winterfest celebration from December 21-31, during which guests will be treated to all the best free family activities the Resort offers during the holidays. Events include snowman building, cookie decorating, a family scavenger hunt, sledding, skiing with Santa Claus on Christmas Day, and a parade and fireworks display on New Yearโ€™s Eve.

JHMR reminds visitors that it is once again limiting the sale of daily tickets and managing capacity for a fourth consecutive year in 2024-25, greatly improving guestsโ€™ experiences on the mountain and throughout the resort.

Ticket sales are limited daily and available for advanced purchase, and tickets may sell out. Due to demand, JHMR encourages all skiers and riders to make reservations as required for its multi-resort pass products or purchase day tickets in advance.

Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective pass holders must make reservations for lift access. JHMR recommends making reservations well in advance. Guests who purchased a JHMR Winter 2024-25 Season Pass can ski or ride on any day indicated by their pass type.
